Edward Blake Field, 85, a resident of Camden, AL died on August 2, 2018 at his home after a lengthy illness. Born on January 2, 1933, in Boston, Massachusetts, Blake was the elder son of the Late Joseph Blake Field and the late Marlowe Bonner Field. He Spent his early childhood in Boston and in Arizona, where his Father was the headmaster of the Mesa Ranch School. Blake spent His formative years in Camden in the care of his grandfather, the late Senator J. Miller Bonner and Annie Brice Miller Bonner. After graduating from Wilcox County High School, he attended the University of Alabama where he received his bachelor of science degree. For many years Blake was employed as an engineer with the State of Alabama Highway Department.

On April 16, 1983, Blake married Bettie Albritton Falkenberry. For many years they maintained residences in both Camden and Montgomery. Bettie predeceased Blake in 2010.

In his retirement, Blake enjoyed restoring several of the older homes on Camden's Broad Street. He was a lifelong member of the Camden Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder.

A memorial service will be held at the Camden Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at 11 a.m.

Survivors include Blake's brother, Bonner Miller Field of Washington, D.C.; three stepsons, David (Judy) Falkenberry of Camden, Cole (Mary Jane) Falkenberry of Greenville, and Rick (Debra) Falkenberry of Stockbridge, Georgia; and five cousins: Reverend David Miller (Virginia) Bonner of Laurens, South Carolina; Dr. Miller Bonner (Virginia) Engelhardt, and Harriet Engelhardt (Frank) Johnston, all of Montgomery, and Marlowe Engelhardt (John) Peters of Dresden, Tennessee. Appreciation is given to his caregivers, Marculine Fore, Henrietta Curry, Ruthelia Ransom, Louise Finney and Henry Finklea.
