Eddie "George" Clyne Sellers, Jr., aged 74, of Greenville, Alabama, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, peacefully left this world on Sunday, February 15, 2026. As his remarkable journey continues beyond this life, those privileged to have known him will forever treasure the warmth of his spirit within their hearts.
In honor of George, a Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at the chapel of Dunklin Funeral Home, commencing at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Mike Torres officiating. Friends and family are invited to gather for visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m., as we unite to celebrate a life well-lived.
“Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.”
George was born on May 16, 1951, to Eddie C. Sellers Sr. and Margaret Galler Sellers. In 1970, he married the love of his life, Sandra Carnathan Sellers, and together they nurtured a beautiful family that includes their three cherished children: George (Aimee) Sellers, Sonja (Robert) Newton, and Jessica (Michael) Helms. His heart overflowed with pride for his eight adoring grandchildren: Faith Newton, Robert Joseph Newton, Sara Keeney, Kiera Keeney, Carnathan (Nathan) Sellers, Judson Helms, Liam Helms, and Silas Helms, who illuminated his life with joy and laughter as they became the new center of his world.
He is also survived by his two brothers, Richard “Stump” (Sharron) Sellers and Bobby Joe Sellers, who have shared many cherished memories with him.
In addition, George held dear the bond he shared with his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John Wilkins and Joan Sellers, whom he regarded as siblings. His legacy continues through his beloved nieces and nephews: Rebecca Sellers, Amanda Sellers, Mandi Sellers, Cheryl Wilkins, Angie Wilkins, Austin Sellers, and Chad Sellers.
Each of them carries a piece of George's memory as they navigate life, inspired by the love and joy he shared so generously.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Margaret Sellers, his brother Robert Michael Sellers, and sister-in-law Brenda Wilkins. The love and memories shared with those he has departed continue to resonate through his family and friends.
A proud graduate of Greenville High School, George dedicated thirty years of service to Pioneer Electric before retiring in 2001. He also proudly served in the United States National Guard. A devoted man of faith, George was never one to hide his true self; he welcomed everyone with open arms and a generous heart. He was known for his love of fishing, hunting, and gardening, but his greatest delight came from sharing the fruits of his labor, whether it be fresh fish or bountiful vegetables, with all those he held dear. His affectionate spirit shone brightly as he donned his Santa costume, traveling door to door to spread joy to children throughout the community.
George's absence will be deeply felt by all who had the fortune to know him. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and a profound love for family and community. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the love he shared so freely in life.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in his memory to St. Jude Children's Hospital
