Douglas Mackauther "Mack" Jayroe, a proud U.S. Army Veteran, passed away on June 27, 2025. He was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather and great-grandfather, and a faithful friend to many.
Mack is survived by his beloved wife, Virginia "Jenny" Jayroe; his son, Pat Till (Kelli); grandsons, Ryan Till (Rebecca) and Grant Till (Brittany); and four great-grandchildren, Hutchinson Till, Mattie Till, Rutledge Till, and Rawlings Till. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Cathy Spears (Ed), along with a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Wilma Wallace Jayroe; his siblings, Edna Jayroe Acreman, DeLane Jayroe, Rona May Jayroe Cramer, Huey Jayroe, and Jeanette Roper; and sisters-in-law, Jean Hamrick and Jeanette Hamrick Grimes.
A man of quiet strength, humility, and unwavering love for his family, Mack lived a life of integrity and service. His legacy will live on through the generations of family he loved so deeply.
A service to celebrate Mack's life will be held on Wednesday, July 2nd at 2:00 p.m. at Dunklin Funeral Home in Greenville. The family will receive visitors beginning at 1:00 p.m. Graveside to follow at Liberty Baptist Church in Greenville, Alabama.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Till, Grant Till, Ed Spears, Daniel Mosley, Ricky Pouncey, and Justin Lovvorn. Honorary Pallbearer Bo Williamson.
