Pierce, Dorothy Lou (nee Stacey), 83, of Greenville, AL, died peacefully on Wednesday, February 17, 2016, at the Mike Conley Hospice House in Clermont, FL. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 21, 216, from the Chapel of Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home in Greenville, AL, with Reverend Felton Stuart officiating and Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home directing. Interment will follow at the Range Cemetery, Range, AL. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home.
Mrs. Pierce was preceded in death by her parents: Travis Ennis and Lucy (nee Bell) Stacey; two sisters: Lillie May Mooney (Marvin) and Annie Lee Stacey; and four brothers: Albert Gillis Stacey, Charles William Stacey, James Wesley Stacey (Esther), and Melvin Travis Stacey (Gwen).
She is survived by three sons: Auston Gene Smith (Cathy) of Smithton, IL, Jerry Wayne Petersen (Bonnie) of Citrus Heights, CA, and John David Pierce (Gabriele) of St. Cloud, FL; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and sister: Mary M. Dyess (Jimmie) of Mobile, AL.
Dot was born August 3, 1932, near Range, AL. She was a long-time resident of Castleberry, AL, prior to moving to Greenville, AL, in 1966. Dot retired from Vanity Fair, Inc. and was a devoted member of the Church of God of Greenville, AL.
