Hammonds, Dorothy Davis, age 81, a resident of Ft. Deposit, AL, died on Wednesday, July 20, 2011. Funeral services will be on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Flatwoods Church of Christ with Minister Greg Wilkes officiating and Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home directing. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hammonds was preceded in death by her husband, George E. Hammonds, Sr., daughter, Anita Hammonds Yates, brothers, Billy Davis and Bruce Davis. She is survived by her children, Kay Hammonds Shanahan (John) of Montgomery, AL, Kim Hammonds Cox (Steve) of Ft. Deposit, AL, George E. Hammonds, Jr. (Carolyn) of Hayneville, AL, James Harrell Hammonds (Joanie) of Selma, AL, many very special grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sister, Elizabeth Davis Payne of Sandy Ridge, AL, sisters-in-law, Pat Coleman Davis, Elsie Bender Davis and many nieces and nephews.
