Donnie Ray Stephens, 78, passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2025, after a short courageous battle with cancer.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Monday, September 15, 2025, at Millbrook Baptist Church with Brother Mike Ingram officiating and Dunklin Funeral Home directing.  Burial will follow at Brookside Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 p.m. prior to funeral services.

Donnie was preceded in death by his father, James Franklin Stephens, mother and stepfather, Louise Stephens and Drue Wilson, sister, Patsy Ann Frazier, brother, James Albert Stephens, and grandson, Jacob William Futral.  He is survived by his wife, Celia Mackey Stephens; children, Sandi Diane Stephens, Brandy Ray Stephens Daniels (Damon) and Bradley Ray Stephens; grandchildren, Jeremiah Talmadge Futral, Joshua Ray Futral, Jordan Caleb Futral (Faith), Damon Braxton Daniels (Jessica), Dalton Ray Daniels (Alex), Braden Wilson Stephens (Hannah Paulk), Callie Ray Stephens and Bradley Coy Stephens; great grandchildren, Maeleigh Ann Futral, Josie Rose Futral, McKenzie Ray Futral, Wyatt Kash Futral, Waylon Arnold Futral and Blakelee Ann Daniels, brother Robert Stephens (Rhonda), sister, Sue Dismukes (PeeWee), brother-in-law, George Frazier and many nieces, nephews and beloved friends.

Donnie Ray was loved by so many and loved his family and friends with all his heart.  He will be dearly missed.

Active pallbearers will be his grandsons, and honorary pallbearers will be his lifelong friends, Douglas Cripple and Raymond Vinson.

The family would like to thank Dr. Robert Avery and staff at the Montgomery Cancer Center Prattville for their excellent care and Baptist Hospice and Rebekah Stephens for their loving care and compassion during Donnie's final days.
