David Frank Crowe

David “Frank” Crowe, of Foley, Alabama, passed away on August 31, 2026, at the age of 90.

Frank was born on October 5, 1935, in Montgomery, Alabama, to Reid and Inez Crowe. He lived a full and remarkable life, defined by his faith, his love of family, a successful career, and a lifelong passion for sports.

Frank enjoyed a successful career in banking that spanned more than 50 years. Throughout those decades, he earned the respect of colleagues and friends alike and formed relationships that lasted well beyond his professional life.

Sports were always a big part of Frank’s life. As a young man, he played minor league baseball in the Boston Red Sox organization, an accomplishment of which he and his family were immensely proud. But perhaps his greatest contribution to the game came later, when he coached each of his boys in baseball. Frank’s influence reached far beyond his own sons. Even today, the boys he coached—now grown men—remember him as a loving and dedicated coach who taught them not only how to play the game, but lessons about character, sportsmanship, and life that stayed with them long after they left the baseball field. He was also an avid golfer and spent countless happy hours on the golf course.

And then there was Alabama football. Frank wasn’t simply a University of Alabama fan—he was THE University of Alabama fan. His devotion to the Crimson Tide was legendary among his family and friends, and Saturdays in the fall were rarely just another day. Roll Tide!

Above all, Frank loved his family. He is survived by his beloved partner, Melba Parker, with whom he shared 25 wonderful years of love and companionship; his children, David, Cindy (Allen), and Reid (Dean); 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Steve, his grandson Reid, and his great-grandson, Grant.

Frank’s passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, but the life he lived leaves behind something far greater. His legacy of faith, love, devotion to family, and a life well lived will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
