Albritton, Dan Starke, 83, a native of Greensboro, Alabama and resident of Camden, Alabama died peacefully at his home on April 10, 2011. Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 12, 2011 , at 11:00 a.m. at the Camden United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in the Reaves Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 12 from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. in the Camden United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the American Cancer Society, Camden United Methodist Church, Camp Smile-A-Mile or a favorite charity.
Mr. Albritton graduated from Auburn University School of Pharmacy in 1952 and owned and operated Albritton Drugs in Camden for 50 years. He was a member of the Camden United Methodist church where he served on numerous leadership positions. He was a founder of Wilcox Academy and a member of the J. Paul Jones Hospital Board of Directors. He was also a World War II veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Felix Reginald Albritton and Dolly Young Albritton, his brother Felix Reginald Albritton, Jr. and his grandson, Dan Starke Albritton, III.
Mr. Albritton is survived by his wife of 60 years, Alice Lee Dobson Albritton, his children Dan Starke Albritton, Jr. (Sharon), Laura Albritton Thomas (Lee), Ann Albritton Alford (George), and Lisa Albritton Agee (Kennon); six grandchildren, Valerie Elaine Albritton, Lee Holt Thomas, Frank Clayton Thomas, Scott Albritton Alford, Kennon
Ross Agee, III, and Laura Alice Agee; two great grandchildren, Michael Scott Lifer and Henry Starke Thomas.
