Connell, Dalton Wayne, age 66, a resident of Camden, AL died on Friday, July 8, 2011. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 11, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at Camden United Methodist Church with Rev. Ed Shirley and Rev. Lowell Thomas officiating and Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home officiating. Burial will follow in Camden City Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church.
Mr. Connell was preceded in death by his parents, Dalton and Sarah Connell. He is survived by his wife, Lucretia Connell, sons, John D. Connell (Diana) of Woodstock, AL Joseph D. Connell of Camden, AL grandchildren Mandy Seale (Benton) of Vance, AL William Sledge (Ashlyn) of Vance, AL great-grandson, Wallace Cheney Sledge of Vance, AL sisters, Elaine Penton (Wayne) of Cantonment, FL Christine Martin of Eutaw, AL and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be members of his Sunday School class. Mr. Connell retired from Alabama Power after 44 years with his last position being the local manager in the Camden, AL office. He will be missed by all who knew him. Donations may be made in his memory to the Camden United Methodist Church, 127 Broad Street, Camden, AL.
