Obituary

Comer Vasco Moseley, age 86, died on September 7, 2016 in Oshkosh, WI. He was born on February 8, 1930, in Honoraville, Alabama, to parents George Columbus Moseley and Lydia Adelle Moseley. He attended the University of Alabama. October 31, 1951 to August 30, 1955,
Vasco was active in the U.S. Navy and served during the Korean conflict in the Mediterranean, returning from that time with great experiences. From September, 1955 until October 17, 1959, he served in the Naval Reserve. During that time, he met and fell in love with Ida Jewell Heartsill. They were married on April 15, 1960.
Vasco worked very hard his whole life as a factory line worker and farmer. He was devoted to his wife and children. He loved nurturing plants, living off the earth, and the beauty of flowers. Vasco was especially charming when his funny bone was tickled. He handled teasing with a twinkle and sense of humor. He was patient, helpful and kind at every opportunity.
Not long after the loss of his wife in, 1995, Vasco moved to Florida with his son, Phillip. When Phillip married a Wisconsin native and moved north, Vasco moved with them. He lived with them for a few years until he found his second home at Simeanna II. It has been such a pleasure for his family to hear how much he shared with his neighbors and friends at Simeanna.
The family would like to thank the residents of Simeanna II and Lutheran Homes of Oshkosh for their amazing care and community. At Simeanna II, Vasco found a second family with whom he shared many happy years.
Comer Vasco is survived by his sons, Roger Allen Moseley, of Alabama, and Phillip Ray VetteMoseley of Oshkosh, WI; brother, Otto Moseley of Montgomery, AL; sister-in-law, Evelyn Moseley; grandchildren, Samantha Moseley, Tina Avera, James Moseley, Destiny Moseley, and Iain VetteMoseley; and his great-grandchildren Isabella, Braxton, Parker and Logan. He was preceded in death by his most beloved wife, Ida Jewell Heartsill Moseley.
As a remembrance of his love of plants, flowers and his southern roots, a Magnolia Tree will be planted in the circle outside of Simeanna II in Oshkosh. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Sunrise Memorial Park with Reverend Ronnie Boulware officiating and Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home directing.
Gifts in memory of Comer Moseley can be sent to Lutheran Homes of Oshkosh Foundation.
