Chester Lamar Deas, 92, of Greenville, AL passed away on the morning of
October 14, 2021. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Magnolia Cemetery with Dunklin Funeral Home directing. Come early for
visitation. Bring a chair. Masks required. If inclement weather, service
moves across street to Dunklin Funeral Home Chapel.

Chester, was born in 1928 in Salitpa, Clarke County, AL, to William
Chester and Eugenia Deas. He is survived by his sisters Edna Wise and
Loyce Chancey and brother Ralph; predeceased by his sisters Blanche
Newman and Bobbie Steele.

Chester was also predeceased by his beloved wife of 66 years, Yvonne
Mathers Deas and son Malcolm and grandson Charlie George. He is survived
by his children Miriam (Mickey) McMullan and Erin Laine; grandchildren
Michele Lee, Chris Deas and Lindsay Veloz; and great-grandchildren
Carrie Beck, Lauren Eshliman, Hunter Lee, Avery Lee, Brayden Deas, Brody
Deas, Emmanuel Veloz, Ruben Veloz, Isabella Veloz and Matteo Veloz.

Chester served in the Korean war, then attended the University of
Alabama, graduating with a BS in Chemistry. He moved his family to Moss
Point, MS where he worked and retired at International Paper Company as
the Technical Services Supervisor. After retirement he and Yvonne moved
to Greenville, AL. They wisely volunteered for about 20 years at the
local hospital which has paid many dividends in their later years as
patients there.

After the death of his wife, Chester moved to Country Place Senior
Living in Greenville where he was happy thanks to all the nice folks
there who became his friends. Close friend Bobbie Brown was vital in
this happiness these last few years.
