Charles Henry Maples went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at the age of 72. A lifelong resident of Mobile, he was a 1962 graduate of Vigor High School and a 1970 graduate of Mobile College. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Chippie Maples and Iola Palmer Maples; his brothers, Cecil Ross Maples and Harold William Maples; and his sister, Helen Maples McDaniel. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Anne Dodd Maples; his daughters, Lorrie Maples Parker (Emmett) and Lynnette Joy Maples; his grandchildren, Johnathan Charles Fleming, Jessica Anne Fleming, Ella Katherine Parker, and Harrison Fulghum Parker; his sisters Agnes Maples Nikolakis (Steve) and Marie Maples Tolbert (Carl); his father-in-law, John E. Dodd; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Charles and Laura Dodd; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Martha Aycock; his sister-in-law, Joyce Dodd--MacDonald; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Saturday, April 2, 2016, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Knollwood Assembly of God. A Celebration of Life service will begin immediately thereafter at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Aaron Fruh officiating and Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home of Greenville, AL directing.
