Charles began working in the picture framing business right out of high school which led him to open Heart of the Home in Fort Deposit where he had two long-time devoted employees, Merle Tolbert and Patrick Simmons. He was passionate about antique cars. Charles had a heart for giving and would do anything he could for anyone, no matter who they were. He loved animals and for that reason the family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in memory of him to the Butler County Humane Society.
