Charles Leslie Coon, Jr., Bo, a resident of Greenville, AL died at his home Friday, October 16, 2015. The Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Coon will be Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Southside Baptist Church with Brother Herbert Brown officiating and Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Bo was preceded in death by his parents, Charles L. Coon and Margaret V. Coon. Bo is survived by his wife of 43 years, Minie, and son Lee, Auburn, AL. He is also survived by his sister Susan Mason, her husband Robert and her son Greg, all of Orange Beach. He was born In Selma, AL on January 2, 1948. He graduated from A.G. Parrish High School, Selma, in 1965. He attended Auburn University and was a member of the marching band. Bo graduated from Livingston University (University of West Alabama) in 1969 with a BME and in 1973 with a MED. He was band director at Greenville High School, Highland Home School and Pike County High School. At Highland Home, he restarted the band program. He was an Alabama High School official for baseball, basketball, and softball. He also referred Greenville city league games. Bo served as the junior varsity baseball coach at Greenville High School. He was an avid "War Eagle" fan. He loved all music from classical to hip-hop. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church. He was an amazing father and a devoted husband.
