Burl Dean Atwell, Sr., 73, a resident of Greenville, AL died at his home Tuesday, August 01, 2017. A funeral service will be Friday, August 4, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Antioch East Baptist Church with Reverend Ronnie Boulware officiating and Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the church. A graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery in Montgomery, AL on Friday, August 4, 2017.

Mr. Atwell is preceded in death by his parents: Luther and Irene Atwell; first wife: Novis Farley Atwell; sister: Carol McCrory; brothers: A.J. Gibson and Gerald Atwell. He is survived by his wife: Shirley M. Atwell of Greenville, AL; daughter: Rosa Atwell Byrd (Steve) of Montgomery, AL; sons: Robert Atwell (Jennifer) of Prattville, AL, Ray Atwell (Sheron) of Saraland, AL, and Burl Dean Atwell, Jr. (Tonya) of Prattville, AL; brother: Earl Atwell (Barbara) of Prattville, AL; 7 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
