Billy Wayne Wood, 81, a Greenville native and resident of Pensacola, FL passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 15, 2018. A graduate of Troy University, Mr. Wood spent his entire career in sales with W.T. Smith Lumber Company/Union Camp/International Paper. He was a member of the US Air Force Reserves, a dedicated Shriner and Mason. An avid, year-round Alabama football fan and collector, Billy spent his retirement years living near, and enjoying his family in Pensacola, Fl.

A devoted and loyal father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, he was preceded in death by his parents: Richard Harold Wood and Ruby Branum Wood of Pigeon Creek. He is survived by his children: Amy Wood Cochran (Dan) of Pensacola, FL and Michael Wood (Mike) of Des Moines, IA; grandchildren: Michael Andrew Cochran (Leah), Elizabeth Wood and Susan Wood; Great-granddaughter: Finley Cochran; Siblings: Johnny Wood (Betty), Jan Wood, Linda Wood Golden (Jeff); beloved nephew and nieces: Wetzel Wood (Theresa), Nancy Wood Rives (Green), Leigh Morris Baranowski, Paige Morris Timms, March Golden Penn (Brian) and Shannon Golden Ray (Butch).

A graveside service will be held at Ebenezer Cemetery in Pigeon Creek on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 2:00pm. Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home announcing.
