Bettie Jo Simmons Stinson went home to meet her Lord and Savior Thursday, August 29, 2013. She passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family and friends. Funeral service will be held Monday, September 2, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Dunklin and Daniels Funeral Home with Rev. Joey Duncan and Rev. Felton Stewart officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday, September 1, 2013 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home. Born April 3, 1935, she is survived by her husband of 54 years, Hilton N. Stinson of Greenville, her two daughters, both of Greenville, Anita Kim Stinson and Karen Ilene Duncan (Joey); two brothers, James M. Simmons (Mary) of Greenville and Conrad Simmons (Kaye) of Jackson, MS. Mrs. Stinson was loved by many nieces and nephews including Whitney and Joshua Jacks of Alabaster, AL, who were loved by her as grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her four sisters and her parents. Bettie Jo was a lifetime resident of Greenville, a charter member of Liberty Baptist Church and most recently an active member of Chapman Church of God. She was a woman of strong faith and lived the example of a faith filled life. Her genuine interest in helping others and her love for others touched so many lives.
