Miss Bettie Blanch Brock, 94, a resident of Greenville, AL, born May 27, 1922 in New Brockton, AL to Thomas Watson Brock & Willie Gladys Brock, died Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at the home of her nephew and his wife, Billy & Debbie Brock, her caregivers. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Samuel Brock & William Bartlett Brock & his wife Grace Brock. She is survived by a niece, Carolyn Brock Ricketson, & four nephews; Tim Brock & wife, Cynthia; Sammy Brock (Sharon who is deceased); Tommy Brock and wife, Pat; Billy Brock and wife Debbie, sister-in-law, Myra Brock Cordell. Several great-nieces and great-nephews and several great-great nieces and several great-great nephews. She graduated from the University of Montevallo in 1944 and went to work for TCI in Birmingham as a chemical analyst and retired in 1983 after 39 years. She continued to live in the Birmingham and Trussville area until she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2009 and moved to Greenville, AL to be close to her nephew and family. She then moved to Homewood of Greenville, Alzheimer's Facility until she came to live with Billy and Debbie after suffering problems related to Alzheimers. We would like to thank Comfort Care Hospice, the doctors and nurses of L. V. Stabler's Hospital, especially Dr. Hood for his dedicated and wonderful care he gave to her; Homewood Assisted Living of Greenville, Pat and Mae and the entire staff for such wonderful care and love over the past years. You all made her last year's comfortable and the love from everyone. Thank you to her friends that continued to visit her, Ellie, Lanette, Ruth, especially Carolyn and Jan (until her death). The love you all had for her was appreciated by us. Per her request, she will be cremated. Graveside service will be Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. at New Brockton Cemetery, New Brockton, AL officiated by Wren Veazy.
