Barbara Lucretia Sykes Connell, a resident of Camden, Alabama passed away on Sunday, November 08, 2015 at the Camden Nursing Facility.

Graveside Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Camden Cemetery on Broad Street in Camden AL, with The Reverend Brian Dovey officiating under the direction of Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home of Camden, AL.
Born in Natchez, Mississippi on June 03, 1942, Lucretia was the daughter of the late Tobie and Frances Sykes of Newton, Mississippi. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband: Dalton Wayne Connell and step-son: John Connell.
Lucretia is survived by her two brothers: Robert Sykes (Sally) of Lawrence, Kansas and Jack Sykes (Dona) of Pearl, Mississippi; One step-son: Joseph Connell; and several nephews and nieces.
As an educator, Lucretia taught mathematics in the Jefferson County Public School System in Birmingham, Alabama, at Wilcox Academy, and in the Wilcox County Public School System in Camden, Alabama.
Lucretia was a devoted member of the Camden United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Camden United Methodist Church or to a charity of choice.
