Albert Edwards Wynne, III (78) passed away on Friday September 4, 2015. Albert was born on August 28, 1937 in Savannah, GA to parents Albert Edwards Wynne, Jr. and Evelyne Knight Wynne. He attended Shades Valley High School and the University of Alabama, where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. Albert was a metallurgical engineer and he served as a Lieutenant in the United States Army Corps of Engineers. Albert was an involved member of the Birmingham Rotary Club and he served on the board of the Boy Scouts of America and the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Council. Albert was preceded in death by his parents, his wifea"Katie Lane Sherling Wynnea"and his sona"Albert Edwards Wynne, IV. Albert is survived by his sistera"Dorothy "Peachy" Wynne Trigg (Jack)a"his daughtersa"Katie Wynne Kirkland (Peter) and Evelyne Wynne DeLong (Billy)a"and his grandchildrena"Lamar and Ruben DeLong and Katie Lane, Albert, and Ruth Evelyne Kirkland. Albert is also survived by many other devoted friends and family members. During his life, Albert enjoyed fishing and Alabama football. He was also a faithful member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Mountain Brook, AL.
There will be a memorial service held in his honor on Tuesday, September 8 at 10 AM at St. Luke's Episcopal Church (3736 Montrose Road, Birmingham, AL 35213-3800) with a reception to follow at St. Luke's. The Reverend Richmond Webster, Rector, and the Reverend Rebecca S. DeBow, Associate Rector, will officiate. The graveside service and burial will be on Monday, September 7 at 1 PM at Magnolia Cemetery in Greenville, AL. There will be a visitation beforehand at 12:30 PM at Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home (812 W Commerce St, Greenville, AL 36037). In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Bruno Cancer Center (810 Saint Vincent's Drive, Birmingham, AL 35205) and MD Anderson Cancer Center (Development Office, P.O. Box 301439, Houston, TX 77230-1439).
