Agnes Virginia Lowery Hammonds, 91, a resident of Greenville, AL died at her home on Tuesday, August 4, 2020. A graveside service will be Thursday, August 6, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Sunrise Memorial Park with Minister Elisha Freeman and Minister Charles Box officiating and Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be Thursday, August 6, 2020 from 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. from the chapel of Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Walnut Street Church of Christ, P.O. Box 551, Greenville, AL 36037.

Mrs. Hammonds is preceded in death by her parents, Bruce and Flora Lowery; sisters, Ora Mae Lowery and Ilene Fussell; brothers, Elbert Lowery, Winfred Lowery, Leon Lowery, J.C. Lowery, Raymond Lowery and Curtis Lowery and five nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her husband of fifty-seven years, Bill Hammonds; daughters, Gayle Gafford (Terry) and Ginny Shirley; son, Jim Hammonds (Alicia); step-son, Lomax Byrd (Sally) grandchildren, Anne Marie Freeman (Elisha) and Trisha Croley (Brandon); great-grandchildren, Gage Arrant, Grace Freeman and Trace Little; step-grandchildren, Will and Ella Byrd; brother, Dennis Lowery (Virginia); sister-in-law, Dot Lowery and eleven nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Agnes lived her life faithful to Christ and was ready when the time came to leave this old world behind.
